Mum in her last years. She was an individual. Always honest, and generous to her children. She could argue anyone blue in the face if she disagreed with them. She was usually, but not always, right. She considered David would be a doctor, Rosemary a dancer, and Graham would stay and comfort her in her old age. David became a professor, Rosemary a Bluebelle Girl, and Graham, contrary to expectations, became a university lecturer with a PhD. Her biggest battle was when Rosemary mysteriously failed the 11+ although others at her school below her, passed. She was put on the borderline and interviewed for the High School but did not get a place even at the Technical College, the natural fall-back position. Nancy fought everyone - the school, the local authority, she took it up with her MP. Many years later she found the truth.
