On April 28th, David and Sue flew to Brazil to spend two weeks in Rio with a trip to Vassouras, and a week in Saõ Paulo. In Rio we stayed in the Atlantis Copacabana Hotel, a couple of minutes walk to the surfing beach at Arpoador, between the beaches of Ipanema (in the background below right) and Copacabana. Our first serious task was to saunter to Arpoador to sup cool coconut juice.

Do not point at ladies on the beach!

On Sunday, April 27, João Bosco Pitombeira took us out for the afternoon

with René Guitart and Evelyne Barbin.

Sue and I had the local fish and chips (above), with grilled sea bass, potatoes in thin ribbons and fried bananas. Delicious.

Our party.
