Calculus Links
This page will contain an increasing number of links to other sites of value and importance.
- Graphic Calculus The software programmed by Piet Blokland, inspired by and improving on original ideas from David Talls Graphic Calculus. A demo is downloadable. Full single user version $10.
- Autograph A fine graph-plotting programme with a huge flexible range of uses. (£50 for a single user copy).
- TEmath Tools for Exploring Math. Free downloadable tools for concepts in the calculus.
- Jerry Uhl. Jerry is the originator of Calculus&Mathematica. I love Jerry. He is a beautiful thinker. His approach to calculus is inspired. But the link on his page to beer is broken and that causes me pain, because he is an expert on porter, and if you don't know what that is, e-mail j-uhl@uiuc.edu to find out. Meanwhile, you can take pleasure from his list of beautiful quotations.
- Terezhina Kawasaki's JAVA applets for Calculus at the university of Texas. These are the right way to go. There are some later versions in Portuguese/English at this site. They are part of a course in Portuguese, with Marcia Pinto here.
- Harvard Calculus The most successful reform calculus text based on a combination of graphic, symbolic, numeric and verbal approaches to each problem.
What is Wrong with Harvard Calculus A criticism from a traditional viewpoint on the Mathematically Correct website.
